Korean food is currently very popular in the world. They can be known a lot because it is accompanied by the popularity of Korean Music and Korean Drama. The Korean government also supports this action to introduce Korean culture to foreign people.

The recipe I made this time is Korean Corn Dog. This food can be found in street food in Korea. This food comes from the influence of hot dogs originating from America. What distinguishes this dish from the American one is the type of batter and sauce.

My recipe for the batter makes it very soft inside and crispy on the outside. inside, I use sausage and mozzarella cheese. For this recipe, I would recommend only mozzarella cheese, it cannot be replaced with other types of cheese. Because the mozzarella cheese will melt and give stringy cheese pull feeling when you eat it.

For the sauce, I mix chilli sauce with mayonnaise so that the taste is not too spicy. And I add chopped onion and parsley. It's so good! I recommend you to try my recipe. Happy cooking!

ingredients

  • Corndog

    • 200 gramall purpose flour
    • 60 grammozarella cheese
    • 300 grambread crumbs
    • 30 gramsugar
    • 200 mlmilk
    • 1 tspsalt
    • 1 tspbaking powder
    • 1 pc(s)egg
    • 1 pc(s)sausage
    • 1 pair(s)chopstick(one time use)
    • 600 mlcooking oil
  • For the Sauce

    • 3 tbspchilli sauce
    • 1 tbspmayonnaise
    • 1 tspsalt
    • 25 gramparsley
    • 60 gramonion

Making the Dough

  1. Get a bowl and then put the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, milk and egg.

  2. Mix it with a whisk, mix it until the dough thickens and evenly.

  3. Move the batter into a long cup, after that, put it in the fridge for around 30 minutes to make it a little firm.

Making the Corndog

  1. Cut long sausage in the middle into 2 short pieces, and cut the mozzarella block into the cut sausage length.
  2. Insert chopstick into the sausage continued withvcheese.

  3. Prepare the breadcrumbs on a plate.

  4. Dip the skewered sausage and mozarella into the batter.

  5. Coat it with the bread crumbs.

  6. Heat a pan over low heat. We use low heat to make sure the inside of the batter is well cooked.
  7. Fry it for around 4-5 minutes, flip it a few times, and fry it until golden brown, set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. Get a small bowl or small plate, then put the chilli sauce, mayonnaise and add salt. Chop the onion and parsley. Mix it well.

  2. Now time for plating, put the Corndog on a plate and put the sauce on the side. The best time enjoys it is when you are watching TV at home and also you can share it with friends or family. Korean Corndog is ready to serve!
