This time, I will share to you a Chicken Wrap recipe. What is Chicken Wrap? If you often go to famous fast-food restaurants, you may be familiar with this menu. However, for those of you who are unfamiliar with this menu, the "Chicken Wrap" refers to a variety of chicken dishes that are wrapped in a tortilla. This food was created in the United States, but it has a strong Mexican influence due to the use of tortillas.

This Chicken Wrap recipe consists of a homemade tortilla filled with shredded chicken mixed with ketchup and mayonnaise. For the vegetables, I use tomatoes and cucumbers to add a crunchy texture and fresh taste.

For the tortilla, I use milk instead of water to make the dough more fluffy and softer. I make the tortilla dough into five portions, but if you want to make 2 or 3 servings, the size will get bigger and wider.

For the filling, it tastes sour and savoury because it uses mayonnaise and tomato sauce. If you are a meat lover, the filling can be replaced with minced meat or any other meat.

ingredients

  • For the dough

    • 200 gramall purpose flour
    • 100 mlmilk
    • 1 tspsalt
    • 2 tbspcooking oil
    • 1 tspbaking powder
  • For the Filling

    • 200 gramchicken breast
    • 100 gramcucumber
    • 100 gramtomato
    • 120 gramonion
    • 1 pc(s)garlic(chopped)
    • 1 tspsalt
    • 1 tspchilli powder
    • 2 tbspmayonnaise
    • 2 tbspketchup
    • 1 tspdried oregano
    • 2 tbspcooking oil
    • 350 mlwater

Making the Dough

  1. Get a bowl, put in the all-purpose flour then add salt, baking powder, and cooking oil.

  2. Boil the milk for around 1-2 minutes, and pour it to the bowl.

  3. Knead the dough until smooth and cover it with a plastic wrap. Cover it for 30 minutes.

Making the Filling

  1. Boil the water with medium heat until it bubbles, then put in the chicken. Boil it for 13 minutes.

  2. Let the chicken breast rest for 10 minutes then you can shred it up.

  3. Cut the onion into dice and chop the garlic.

  4. Cut the cucumber and tomato into small cubes.

  5. Pour the cooking oil then stir fry the onion and garlic until fragrant with medium heat.

  6. Put in the shredded chicken, and add seasonings; salt, oregano and chilli powder. Keep stirring it for around 3 minutes. Turn off the heat.

  7. Put in the cucumbers and tomatoes, then add ketchup and mayonnaise. Mix it well and set aside.

Making the Wrap

  1. Get the dough and divide it into five pieces.

  2. Flatten the dough with a rolling pin.

  3. Heat a pan with medium heat. Pan-fry the dough for 1-2 minutes. Do repeatedly until the dough finishes.

  4. Put the filling around the middle. Flip one side from the left, and then while pressing, start rolling it up gently from bottom to the top.

  5. Now chicken wraps are ready to serve! Enjoy it.
